The discussions on Doctoral training and the presentation of experiences and good practices will be completed and further extended at the InterDoc2014 satellite symposium “Doctoral candidates to Doctoral candidates” (“Doc2Doc”) to be held on the afternoon of Friday, November 21.
Doc2Doc will focus on innovative Doctoral training programmes from the the doctoral candidates’ point of view.

This event has been conceived as an opportunity for a direct exchange of personal experiences among doctoral candidates by promoting the interaction and discussions on topics such as training and research careers paths for current and future PhD students and post-docs.

The speakers of the symposium are doctoral candidates whose careers represent a good practice in international or intersectoral mobility, in interdisciplinary approach to research, and in successful achievements in technology transfer by activation of spin offs and patents.

Symposium includes the participation of John Peacock, President of Eurodoc (European Council for Doctoral Candidates and Junior Researchers), an international federation of 35 national associations of doctoral candidates and young researchers. As a non-profit organisation, Eurodoc monitors the situation of early career researchers in Europe. The ADI (the Italian Association of Doctoral candidates and doctorate holders) is also represented. The event is open by a presentation on the Euraxess Portal as opportunity for finding announcements on research mobility and job placement. Results from EUA projects on doctoral training are also reported.

Participation of doctoral candidates from any area and from any university is very welcome, as well as participation of post graduate students interested in PhD enrolment.
